Spanish Fork is just south of our Springville office, one of the closest cities we serve in Utah County. Its drinking water comes straight out of the ground, from city springs and wells.
Around Spanish Fork
Spanish Fork takes its name from 1776, when two Spanish Franciscan friars, Escalante and Domínguez, followed the river down Spanish Fork Canyon. Settlers arrived in 1851. The city sits between the Wasatch Range and Utah Lake, with I-15 along its northwest side, Springville about four miles to the northeast and Payson about six miles to the southwest.
Main Street runs through downtown past the Spanish Fork Library, and the 1910 Thurber School building there still works as a city office. Out east on Powerhouse Road, Canyon View Park hosts the Festival of Lights near The Oaks at Spanish Fork golf course. Spanish Fork Marketplace sits on 1000 North and the Spanish Fork Sports Park on Volunteer Drive.
Spanish Fork's Groundwater
Spanish Fork City's 2025 Consumer Confidence Report says the city provides ground water, from five groundwater springs and two groundwater wells.
The same report lists total dissolved solids between 272 and 724 parts per million across its sources. Dissolved solids are the minerals carried in the water, which is what a softener and a reverse osmosis system each go after in different ways.
Getting the Most From Your Water in Spanish Fork
With dissolved solids ranging from 272 to 724 parts per million across Spanish Fork's sources, what reaches your home depends on which springs and wells are feeding it. A test at your own tap tells us where you fall, and whether an RO system at the kitchen sink is worth adding to a softener.
Water Softener and Water Treatment in Spanish Fork
A water softener takes care of the hardness for the whole house, and a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink removes most of the dissolved solids from your drinking water.
